The insulating material is one of the key factors to determine the technical and economic indexes of motor, electrical appliances, electrical appliances, because the motor in operation, will inevitably be affected by temperature, electrical, mechanical stress and vibration, harmful gases, chemicals, moisture, dust and radiation and other factors as well, but for these factors more insulating materials sensitive, easy to deteriorate, resulting in damage to electrical equipment, so we should pay attention to the performance of insulating materials by what factors affect.

1. resistance and resistivity

Resistivity is the resistance in unit volume. Resistance is the reciprocal of conductance. The smaller the conductivity, the greater the resistance. The higher the resistivity is, the higher the resistivity.

2. relative dielectric constant and dielectric loss angle tangent performance

Insulating material uses: as the electrical network components are mutually insulated and dielectric capacitors (storage), the former requires a relatively low dielectric constant, which requires a relatively high dielectric constant, and both requirements of dielectric loss tangent is small, especially the application of insulating materials in high frequency and high pressure, the dielectric loss small, require insulating material using small dielectric loss tangent.

3. breakdown voltage and electrical strength

Under a strong electric field, the insulation material is destroyed and the insulation property is changed into conductive state, which is called breakdown. The breakdown voltage is called the breakdown voltage (dielectric strength). The electrical strength is the distance between the breakdown voltage and the two electrodes that withstand the applied voltage under the specified conditions, that is the breakdown voltage of the unit thickness. For insulating materials, the higher the value of the breakdown voltage and the electrical strength is better.

4. tensile strength

In tensile tests, the maximum tensile stress is subjected to the specimen. It is the most widely used and representative test for the mechanical properties test of insulation materials.

5. combustibility

The ability of insulating materials to resist burning or to stop burning when they are exposed to flame. With the increasing application of insulating materials, the requirement of its combustion resistance is more important. People can improve the combustion resistance of insulating materials by various means. The higher the combustibility, the better the safety.

6. Resistance Arc

Under the prescribed test conditions, the insulating material is resistant to the ability of the arc acting along its surface. In the test, AC high voltage and small current are used, and the arc action generated by high voltage between the two electrodes is applied to make the time needed to form the conductive layer on the surface of the insulation material, so as to judge the arc resistance of the insulation material. The higher the time value, the better the arc resistance.

7. sealing degree: the sealing and isolation of oil and water is better.
