The induction and transformer are all electro-magnetic induction winded by insulation wire. It is also common components. Inductor is a series of coaxial turns made of enameled wire, gauze covered wire or plastic skin wire wound on the insulation framework or magnetic core, iron core. The main function of inductors is to isolate and filter ac signals or to form resonant circuits with capacitors and resistors.

The transformer is a device according to electromagnetic induction principle. The transformer make use of primary winding and secondary winding convey electric energy or signal with different ratio of turns. The main function is to change alternating voltage, signal coupling, isolation and so on.  The transformer make use of primary side coil electricity create magnetic field that affect secondary coil to produce induced electromotive force.

But the inductance is separates the traffic straight” the statement is not comprehensive, the so-called separates the traffic straight is only we in the circuit has used the inductor “inductive reactance” principle. This is just different from the transformer’s self-inductance and mutual inductance in the circuit.

The transformer generates voltage by mutual inductance to the side by its own inductance. The inductor is contained by its inductive reactance, which produces resonance to the alternating current, but the direct current is not affected by it. The connection mode of transformer in the circuit is in parallel with ac power supply, the connection mode of inductance in the circuit is generally in series with ac circuit, although the inductance has a blocking effect on ac, but it is not completely do not let ac through, it is through the so-called inductive reactance to produce a limiting effect on ac. For the transformer, it is as the ac load to work, it is the ac power conversion, rather than through.
