Question:

What is the difference between non conducting material and insulating material?

Answer:

A conductor is an object or type of material that allow the flow of electrical current in one or more directions. A metal wire is a common electrical conductor. The flow electricity depends on free electron present in a material. In metals there are so many free electrons. Nonconductors like mica, wood dont have free electrons.

Insulator is a substance that does not transmit heat (thermal insulator”), sound (”acoustic insulator”) or electricity (”electrical insulator ) while nonconductor is any material that does not conduct electricity; a dielectric.
